This is an original painting from my 2018 collection ‘Towards The Light’.

Another boiling day in the English summer of 2018, painting with friend and fellow artist, Shirley Vauvelle. On the edge of a stretch of cornfields, burning in our straw hats, paint drying quickly, insects humming and biting, trying to capture the huge rolling vista of the Yorkshire Wolds, the silence, stillness and heat. We saw one car all day. It felt as though we had the world to ourselves.

The painting is supplied in a beautifully handcrafted frame made from a combination of hand painted pine and solid oak by local Yorkshire craftsmen and women.
