Commission Your Own Work Of Art
When you commission a painting from me, a unique, bespoke piece of art is created which is completely personal to you. You have been involved in the creation of a work of art which wouldn't otherwise exist, without having to lift up a paintbrush.
My Approach
People often want me to paint a place that is special to them, somewhere that has significance. This is usually a house, garden or view that they love, but it could be a colourful abstract or floral with the colours and size that they want to fit a particular place. Commissions are personal, they involve friendship and narrative into the painting from the start. It is a great feeling and honour to re-create a special place or design for people. Some of my best work has resulted from Commissions.
The Process
We can meet in person or over the over the phone to talk about what you would like. Questions I’ll ask include; What dimensions do you have in mind? Is there a timescale? What is your budget? Any questions or concerns do you have? What is your vision, is it similar to another piece of work, is it of a specific place or object etc.
I might make initial sketches or designs and will ask for feedback, or you might trust me to begin work straight away with the brief you have given me.
You will be invited to look at the work at various stages as it develops, either through photographs or in person.
The Details
Obviously, each commission is different but as an example, a 3ft x 3ft commission would take between 4-8 weeks.
The cost varies according to size, ranging from £1,200 -£5000.
You will pay 50% deposit before I start the commission and pay the balance on completion.
I can organise framing which will cost on average £150 for a 3ft painting.
You can collect or I am happy to deliver the painting to you.
