This is an original painting from my 2016 Collection ‘A Sense Of Place’.

Painted for my exhibition at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Dog Rose is prevalent in Northumberland and reminds me of my childhood. I wanted to get a sense of peaking through a hedge and seeing beyond. The colours and smudgy techniques ended up being the most appealing aspect to the painting which was much loved and sold quickly.

The painting is supplied in a beautifully handcrafted frame made from a combination of hand painted pine and solid oak by local Yorkshire craftsmen and women.
